"As we face growing scarcity of fossil fuels and mounting environmental degradation I believe that biking will become an essential element of our region's comprehensive transportation system.

Here in the Twin Cities we are fortunate to have great bike trails like the Midtown Greenway, the Cedar-Lake Trail and the Grand Rounds but there is much more that we can do ...

A well-distributed network of bike trails will encourage the greater use of bicycles and help improve the environment, health and scenic enjoyment available to our citizens ...

A network of bike trails will also spur attractive and lucrative development by providing a welcome amenity that appeals to families and those interested in healthy lifestyles."
