The public realm

The public realm is the space we inhabit when we are out for a walk, when we are out shopping or sightseeing, or simply getting from place to place. It is the sum of spaces that are open to and exist for all people that visit, pass through, or live in a place.

In our practice, we work with communities to explore, address and improve all of the experiences and interactions that make up our experience of "place."

From the streets and sidewalks, to the buildings, trees and natural environment, to the feelings of comfort or safety people experience in a place, we work with our clients to create memorable places and environments that support economic vitality, community interaction and sustainable development. Our goal: a place that lingers in our memories, and that calls us to return.
