Presenting at Lima’s inaugural Non-Motorized Expo

 

CDG Director Antonio M. Rosell, P.E., AICP presented at Lima, Peru's "I Expo de Movilidad Sostenible Lima 2011," the city's inaugural sustainable mobility conference, this past September 22 and 23.

Antonio's conference presentation focused on the role that bicycle transportation can play as a foundation for efficient and livable mobility in Lima (a city of 8 million people) and included recommendations for improving the city's orientation to non-motorized transportation.

The conference was part of Lima's Sustainable Mobility Week and included activities related to Peru's first Carfree Day (on Thursday Sep 22), a Bicycle Safety Rodeo with the participation of 3,000 schoolchildren and representatives from Peru's Ministries of Education and of the Environment, and organized rides through the city, including the city's weekly Sunday Ciclodía.
