Harris to lead Open Streets / Ciclovía training

CDG Project Engineer, Colin Harris, P.E., will be presenting at an all-day Open Streets / Ciclovía Winter Institute on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.

The June 2011 Ciclovía was a resounding success!

Harris will be presenting his experiences from work he completed as the lead organizer of Open Streets Minneapolis, a Ciclovía that opened up more than two miles of urban streets in June of 2011.

The Institute is designed to disseminate knowledge and practical experiences that catalyze development of Open Streets events throughout Minnesota. It will be hosted at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota's headquarters in Eagan, Minnesota.

The Institute will allow participants to:

  • Develop skills to organize successful Open Streets events in 2012,
  • Understand how a strategically organized and executed event can help build momentum for policy and infrastructure change and build public support for that change, and
  • Understand the steps needed to execute a successful event.
