CDG Director Antonio M. Rosell, P.E., AICP presented at the IX Congreso Internacional de Transporte Sustentable (International Congress for Sustainable Transportation) organized by CTS Embarq México, a Mexican NGO that is part of the EMBARQ-WRI international network of Centers for Sustainable Transport and which acts as a social, financial and environmental catalyst in the search for solutions to problems of urban mobility.

The Congress, which drew almost 2,000 participants, is one of the largest in Latin America, and is a platform for sharing innovation and learning across the continent and also with participants from developing nations in Asia and Africa. It took place in Mexico City from September 30 to October 2 of 2013.

Antonio's presentation was entitled "¿Y cómo se hace? Planificación de un sistema de bicicletas públicas compartidas" (How do you do it? Planning a bikeshare system) and provided an overview to planning and implementation considerations for a bikeshare system in a developing-nation city context. The presentation was based on CDG's extensive experiences with partners in Perú (including consultation provided to partners involved with Lima's first bikeshare system) and with our experience for planning and expansion of Nice Ride Mn, the Twin Cities bikeshare system since 2010.
