Exploring a bikeshare program for Duluth-Superior

Could a bikeshare system work in Duluth? This forum explored the potential for implementing a system in the Twin Ports.

We know that bikeshare systems can quickly gain success and become important components of the transportation landscape of major cities - but can they also serve the needs of medium and smaller cities?

CDG Director Antonio M. Rosell, P.E., AICP presented as part of a forum hosted and organized by the Duluth-Superior Metropolitan Interstate Council and Public Solutions Inc. that sought to explore the potential for a successful bikeshare program for the Twin Ports region of Duluth, Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin.

Antonio's presentation shared design and operational characteristics of successful bikeshare programs, with special emphasis on Nice Ride Mn (the Twin Cities' bikeshare system, whose 2011 expansion was planned by our firm), and highlighted and explored Twin Ports assets that may lead to the successful implementation of a bikeshare program there.
