Presentation to Bike PGH and Partners
On Wednesday July 27, CDG Director Antonio M. Rosell, P.E., AICP addressed an audience of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County policymakers, engineers, planners and advocates.
He was invited to speak following the recent visit of a Pittsburgh delegation to Minneapolis to experience firsthand why Bicycling magazine named it the "#1 Bike City" in the US, ranking 2nd only to Portland in bike commuters among large US cities.
Lou Fineberg, Program Director at BikePGH (Pittsburgh’s principal bicycle advocacy organization) asked Antonio to speak about the development of the Minneapolis non-motorized transportation network, and about the relationship between trails and on-street facilities and their role in the development of the city’s present gains. Antonio also shared some of the "instrumental successes" that have helped Minneapolis emerge as a leader in bicycle transportation.
